MARCHING TO THE FIELD

CLEARING TCS DIGITAL TEST 2019

CRT PREPARATION

As the sixth semester is coming to an end, most of the students are now focussing on their internships and job offers. While some of the students are going into the battlefield with clovers in their pockets, a lot of students are sharpening their swords to win the war.
TCS is one of the prominent companies in India. TCS has brought major changes in their recruitment processes in 2018. They started recruiting on the basis of their national exams, TCS ninja and TCS digital.

TCS recruited 400 students through TCS digital and 30k+ people through TCS ninja tests. Fewer recruitments through TCS digital test may be due to the fact that the coding section was a bit on the higher side in the last year's examination.

BUT THERE IS ALWAYS SOME GOOD NEWS!!

Unlike 2018 in which only the accredited college students are allowed to take the exam, the 2019 TCS digital exam is open to all students!
This also means that intense competition has become more vigorous, but TCS is also planning to recruit 10 to 20% more people than that of the previous year. Such great opportunities are topped off by the hike in pay from 3.36-3.5 lakhs to a whopping 6.5-7.5 lakhs per anum!

SO...GET READY FOLKS!! IT'S YOUR CHANCE TO SHINE NOW!

HERE ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA TO TAKE THE TEST.

QUALIFICATION

  1. Undergraduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) students (2020 Passouts) are eligible (includes 5-year integrated courses.
  2. 70% and above (or equivalent CGPA) in the highest qualification

  4. No backlogs.

ELIGIBLE BRANCHES

  1. Computer Science
  2. Information Technology
  3. Information Sciences
  4. Electronics & Communication
  5. Electrical & Electronics
  6. Mechanical
  7. Electronics & Telecommunication
  8. MCA with BSc/BCA (with Math/Statistics Background)
  9. MSc in Computer Science/Information Technology/Software
If you pass all the criteria mentioned above, well you can declare the war now. Let's see the designations offered by TCS.
  1. Full Stack Developers
  2. Dev Ops Engineers
  3. Data Scientists
  4. Product Engineers
  5. System Research Engineer etc.
The war cannot be started unless you know what you're dealing with. So, here is the examination pattern.
The exam pattern is going to be similar to that of the previous year's examination pattern. The coding part is going to be the last resort for a lot of students this year as well. So better get ready for it.
Here's the exam pattern.

TCS  digital and ninja tests are going to be in July to speed up the recruitment process. With barely two months to prepare, Its recommended that the students start their preparation as early as possible.
We can expect the questions similar to the those in   TCS Codevita 2019.
TCS also prefers students with good internship records. so take part in as many internship programs as possible.

GAME PLAN

Aptitude test could be decisive if the coding and programming section is a hard bite. TCS aptitude test consists of questions ranging from geometry, reasoning to permutations and number series. There are a lot of books and websites which would prove extremely useful. TCS quantitative aptitude questions are not easy but they could be cracked with enough practice.
Here are a few recommendations from us make sure you check them at least once before taking the test.

English section is a new addition to this exam and is meant to test a student's grip on the language.
General questions which doesn't need much preparation are expected in this section.

Lateral thinking which has 7 questions with a time of 30 minutes could be the game changer. Questions like moving the matchsticks are asked in this section and who doesn't like to solve some puzzles. So, why not??

Lateral thinking Geeks for Geeks

Agility section consists of two questions. One application based question and one coding question. (coding languages allowed are Java, C, C++, Python, Perl
). Make sure you check the link given below.

Agility questions Prepinsta

Programming Logic section is designed to test the writer's skills inside out. The standard of questions is going to be the same as the last year's questions.  This is not a cake walk but enough practice should get the job done. As mentioned earlier, participating in TCS codevita 2019 could prove effective as the questions asked in the exam could be similar to those of the questions asked in the competition.
"Wars may be fought with weapons. But they're won by men" Is the old saying
"Exams are fought with time and won by men who know its value" is the latest version.

TIME MANAGEMENT

Without saying, time management surely plays a very important role in any exam (to be honest, it plays a vital role in our whole life😄). Here are a few tips to manage your time effectively. Remember that the whole point of this exam is to test your technical and time management skills.
  • Don't get stuck on a question for too long.
  • Don't waste your time on starred questions just because they are awarded more marks.
  • Avoid guesswork as much as possible.
  • Follow stress reduction techniques such as meditation on the morning of the test day as they could improve your concentration and reduce your anxiety as well.

TECHNICAL AND HR INTERVIEWS

There will be two technical interviews and one HR interview. They would begin the interview by asking about yourself and generally, they don't prefer to hear what is there on the CV. They would ask you about your internships and some technical questions. HR interviews include some basic questions like your strengths and weaknesses, etc.

Here's a link to Geeks for Geeks site on a student describing the hiring process.
THANK YOU Fellas
All The Best for your exam.
LET THE WAR BEGIN!!

Exploring the personality

PERSONALITY DISORDERS Modernization also brought a lot of problems with it. And topping the list are the personality disorders. Probably we're familiar with the Borderline Personality Disorder or what is popularly known as BPD and Obsessive compulsive disorder. These personality disorders may affect the individual ranging from explosive bursts to extreme mood swings. These, in turn, damage the social and mental health of the individual. Personality is elementally the way of thinking or behaving that makes a person different from other people. Personalities are influenced by the environment in which the person grows and also on the experiences and company they had in their life. A personality disorder is a  pattern of behavior which is different from what is normally expected of a person. Personality disorders can affect the individual adversely even leading to extreme depression followed by suicidal thoughts. TYPES OF PERSONALITY DISORDERS A STRATIFIED LIST P

INTERVIEW TRAINING

INTRODUCE   YOURSELF : THE LOTTERY  QUESTION When facing an interview, the first question you might face is "Tell me something about yourself." This question is asked to observe your communication skills, to break the ice and to identify your personality(will be discussed later). As the first 2  minutes   contribute  a  major  part to the  outcome  of the interview ,  you  might  want  to  display  all your  communication  skills , persuasion  skills (will be explained later)  and your  strengths . "Come forth and bend the knee!" "I, ser Barron of the  kingdom  Inf , Third of his  name , King of the  Sentros ,  pledge  my  loyalty  to  Ceasar  the great of the  kingdom   Rome " In medieval ages,  people  used to  introduce  themselves with their  name  followed by their  titles  and  kingdom   names .  Since we're not sers and  ladies  anymore  (Most of us are not!) ,  How to  introduce  yourself?   BREAK THE ICE .
