INTRODUCE YOURSELF:
THE LOTTERY QUESTION
When facing an interview, the first question you might face is "Tell me something about yourself."
This question is asked to observe your communication skills, to break the ice and to identify your personality(will be discussed later).
As the first 2 minutes contribute a major part to the outcome of the interview, you might want to display all your communication skills, persuasion skills(will be explained later) and your strengths.
"Come forth and bend the knee!"
"I, ser Barron of the kingdom Inf, Third of his name, King of the Sentros, pledge my loyalty to Ceasar the great of the kingdom Rome"
In medieval ages, people used to introduce themselves with their name followed by their titles and kingdom names. Since we're not sers and ladies anymore (Most of us are not!), How to introduce yourself?

BREAK THE ICE.
"Introduce yourself" is generally the first question you might face in an interview. So how to answer it? Well, the answer is quite simple.
YOU DON'T START WITH A GREETING
I.e. the time you enter the room. So, the answer should not start with a greeting.
DON'T START WITH YOUR NAME
Whether to answer this question starting with your name depends on the question. If the interviewer asks you "Tell me something about yourself Barron", he already knows your name and answering him starting with your name again gives off an impression that you may have by hearted the answer or simply that you're parrot-minded.
But if the interviewer mentions a part of your name, you can say it completely like, "I am Barron Jefferson"
THE ANSWER SHOULD NOT BE SHORT
A short answer gives off the impression that you don't have much to say about yourself. In a pizza with different toppings, which do you prefer? Plain cheese or mozzarella loaded? Yeah! so does the interviewer. (most of us at least pick mozzarella loaded).
REMEMBER HE'S NOT YOUR THERAPIST
You can't keep bragging about yourself for too long. It bores the interviewer, and he might cut your answer short.
FLAVORS OF LIFE
Give the interviewer everything he's looking for. Don't be a boring falafel but be multi-flavored
ice cream.
TEMPT THE INTERVIEWER
You might want to use your persuasive techniques here. Use strong words like "I JUST LOVE THE EXTENSIVE LIBRARIES IN DOT NET FRAMEWORK" this attracts the interviewer's attention and makes him ask you more questions about it.
ACADEMICS
You must mention your academics. If you're good in your academics, you might want to mention more about it and if you're bad, just don't mention it more often. But you must mention your academics because it is one of the reasons that you will be sitting in that room.
EXTERNAL COURSES
Make mention any co-curricular activities that you've done. Let it be an external course or a nano degree or any paper presentation. All those activities show your interest in the field that you've chosen.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
In this debauch society, companies are looking for people with social values and responsibilities. Make mention anything that portrays you as a socially responsible citizen. It can include blood donations, donations to orphanages, Street cause activities, etc.
FAMILY BACKGROUND
When they ask about the family background, do not mention your parents' names. The interviewers want to know about your background, not your biodata. Mention things like the education your parents received, etc.
HOBBIES
Hobbies tell them whether you're a team player or not, whether you are capable of handling pressure or not, etc.
Mention three major hobbies and at least one of them should portray you as a team player. Hobbies like reading books, etc. portray you as a person incapable of working in a team. Ex: Playing football or any other team sport or game would make you look like you enjoy working in a team.
Remember to use strong words to tempt the interviewer to ask more questions on that topic.
As a wise man once said, "If you can't play the game, try to change the game."

BE AN INNOVATOR
Be an innovator. Taking an interview is like selling a product. The more innovative you are, the better is the chance of being sold. Present yourself as a person who can make a difference.
End the answer with the reason you're sitting in that room. Talk about your goal. But don't be over specific.
For example:
"My dream is to work in a big company like yours" ✅
"My dream is to work in your company" ❌
Remember you're not the one to decide whether you work in their company or not.
Make sure that the interviewer understands your passion.
HERE ARE SOME BEST PRACTICES TO FOLLOW WHILE INTRODUCING YOURSELF
- Avoid summarizing your resume. If they wanted to know what you wrote on your resume, why would, they ask you this question? 😇
- Mention past experiences and proven successes.
- If you did any internships before, give a brief description of what you've learned from that internship.
- Highlight your personality.
- Avoid rushing into deeper conversations about the role and company.
- Connect your skills to the job description.
